The Principle of Correspondence

“As above, so below; As within, so without.” – Hermes Trismegistus

This Principle “embodies the truth that there is a harmony, agreement, and correspondence between the several planes of Manifestation, Life, and Being.”

Are you the cause or the effect of your life?

Can you raise yourself up and away from a negative mental state?

Are you as happy as you could be?

Seneca says…

“The body should be treated more rigorously, so that it may not be disobedient to the mind”.

This is a great example of correspondence between the body and the mind.

When you discipline your body, you discipline your mind simultaneously.

As without, so within…

The Principle of Correspondence tells us that whatever is within us, is reflected in our outer world.

And vice versa.

Tony Robbins understands this…

He is a master vibration raiser.

One tactic he uses is he gets you to change your physiology in order to change your mental state.

Jump up out of your chair.

Stand up straight.

Raise your hands in the air and say “YES!”.

Dance. Run. Shout. Smile.

As without, so within.

How you process and perceive the world is in fact how you will experience it.

The perception you have of your neighbour is directly correlated with how you will interact with them.

You Are Doing It To Yourself

When you wake up on the wrong side of the bed…

And everything that can go wrong seems to be going wrong.

Is that a coincidence?

Or are you doing it to yourself?

You stub your toe on the chair leg.

You hit your head on the cupboard door.

You leave the house in an unorganized rush.

Would all these things be happening if your mind wasn’t blurred with negative thoughts and emotions?

If you’re like most people, you are a victim of your emotions and your current mental state.

You allow it to dictate what you think, say, and do.

This is a part of the human experience.

We all experience this at some point.

However, the main problem is that you don’t know how to change what is happening inside your head…

If you change your inner world, your outer world will follow.

And vice versa.

If your mind is cluttered and you can’t figure out why…

There is most likely something in your physical world that needs attention.

You have already experienced the clarity and satisfaction you gain from cleaning your room, right?

That is correspondence.

Cleaning up your outer world will, in turn, clean up your inner world.

“Clean up your room!” – Jordan Peterson.

The macrocosm (The totality of life, the largest aspects of the world and the universe).

And the microcosm (the smallest individual units that group together to comprise the whole).

Are a mirror. They are a reflection of each other.

The universe is inside each and every individual, as each individual is inside the universe.

Examples of Correspondence (Physical Plane)

“While ALL is in THE ALL, it is equally true that THE ALL is in ALL. To him who truly understands this truth hath come great knowledge” – The Kybalion

  • The way a river carries water throughout the land of the earth mirrors the way our vein and capillary network carries blood around our bodies
  • Tree branches reflect the structure of our lungs
  • The rings of a tree stump mirror our fingerprints
  • An atom looks like the structure of the solar system (the solar system has its central sun and revolving planets as does the atom have a central nucleus being encircled by electrons)
  • A helix nebula looks a lot like a human eye
  • The death of a star looks a lot like the birth of a cell
  • The formation of the universe and neurons under a microscope
  • The milky way galaxy and a hurricane
  • The Fibonacci sequence is shown in an acorn, a sunflower, a spiral aloe, a nautilus shell, and much more.
  • Our individual minds (microcosm) are the same as the Universal Mind (macrocosm). They are the same in nature but vastly different in degree of vibration.

Food:

  • A walnut & the human brain
  • Avocado & a woman’s uterus
  • Grapes & alveoli of the lungs
  • Kidney beans & kidneys
  • Sweet potato & the pancreas
  • Tomatoes & the heart
  • Ginger & the stomach
  • Carrots & eyes
  • Mushrooms & ears
  • Celery & bones
  • Figs & the testes
  • Citrus & a woman’s breast

There are examples of correspondence everywhere in the physical world.

How To Use Correspondence To Raise Your Vibration.

“As above, so below; As within, so without.” The Kybalion.

The Principle of Correspondence manifests across all three of the Great Planes of existence.

Physical, mental & spiritual.

This Principle “embodies the truth that there is a harmony, agreement, and correspondence between the several planes of Manifestation, Life, and Being.”

How you attend to your physical world will reflect on your mental and spiritual world.

How you attend to your mental and spiritual world will reflect on your physical world.

You already hold a subconscious belief about how a healthy, wealthy, and successful person lives…

You see them living in a clean, tidy, and organized house.

You see them eating fresh, high-quality food.

You see them presenting themselves in a visually pleasing manner.

When you do the opposite to this, your subconscious mind intrinsically knows what that means…

Now take a moment to think about how you view someone who lives an unhealthy, unorganized life of poverty.

When you make choices that align with either one of these scenarios, you are telling your subconscious mind how you see yourself and your life.

Conscious Mind Vs Subconscious Mind

Your Conscious Mind is easily changeable.

Your Subconscious Mind is sticky and resistant to change.

These two parts of your mind correspond with each other.

The majority of what you think, feel, say, and do, comes from your subconscious programming developed throughout your life.

You can change your Subconscious beliefs by repeatedly focusing your Conscious Mind on the thoughts, behaviours, and beliefs you want to embody.

The Conscious drops into the Subconscious.

Meditation

Meditation comes in many different forms.

The most common is a breath-focused meditation.

It’s great for improving focus and promoting relaxation.

Visualization is a very effective form of meditation that allows you to create any image or scenario within your mind.

Visualize yourself in your final form. Your best possible version.

Visualize yourself living your ideal life.

Embody it. Feel it. Experience it.

Know it is possible and allow that feeling to ripple into your daily life.

Positive Self-Talk

“Talking to yourself is the first sign of madness.”

This couldn’t be further from the truth.

We all talk to ourselves.

Talking to yourself in a positive manner has been shown to have profound effects on your well-being and your life as a whole.

Your job is to make sure that you are saying positive and empowering words to yourself as often as possible.

Take Care Of Your Hygiene

“Cleanliness is next to godliness”

You must look after your meat vehicle in every way possible.

It is the vehicle that carries your spirit through this world.

A clean, healthy, and cared-for body is arguably the highest form of wealth and self-love.

Paying attention to your hygiene tells your mind that you are worthy of being cared for.

Wear Clothes That Make You Look & Feel Good

When you wear your lounge clothes, you feel like lounging around.

You feel cosy and lazy.

When you wear your gym clothes, you feel like being active and moving your body.

The same applies to dressing yourself in a way that makes you feel and look good.

As without, so within.

Clean Your Room

Declutter the space around you and your mind will become decluttered.

Organize your outer world to organize your inner world.

Get rid of things you don’t need to allow new things into your life.

Move Your Body

Exercise.

Dance.

Go for a walk.

Have sex.

Moving your body will release endorphins that elevate your mood and raise your vibration.

When you move your body, you are giving your mind physical evidence that you care about your health.

Eat Healthy Food

Health is wealth.

Everyone knows this.

Eating healthy food is amazing for your physical body.

However, it also works wonders on your mind and being.

When you eat healthy food, your mind understands that you are making a positive health choice.

It tells your subconscious that you fuel your body correctly.

This has deep intrinsic value.

It benefits your physical body, your chemical makeup, and your subconscious beliefs about yourself.

As within, so without.

The Principle of Correspondence

Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world.

Your inner world is a reflection of your outer world.

If your environment encourages a healthy lifestyle…

You are more likely to make healthy choices.

As without, so within.

If your thoughts are negative and pessimistic…

You will produce and attract negative outcomes in your physical reality.

As within, so without.

With energy,
